Well we beat the Open Day total:
We raised a massive £824.15 from the Family Fun Day on 31st July 2010. In addition we also received a donation of £100 towards the day from a local business.
Once again the hair, fur and feathers of Ark on the Edge thank everyone for their help to prepare for the day before, during and after the event. We also need to thank GlaxoSmithKline volunteers for their input into the day, 2 groups came to work at Ark on the Edge the week before and the day before. Some even helped on the day.
The day was a resounding success with the Hamsterley and District Vintage Tractor Club, South Durham Vintage Motor Bike group, Dry Stone Walling demonstration, Bishop FM radio, homemade cakes, tombola, bouncy castle, trampolines, hand made jewellery, old fashioned ice cream, not to mention the animals and of course the dog show and dog display by retired police dog handler and his acquaintance. BBQ and refreshments available all day went down a treat.
There will be many photos in the Photo Gallery of the event.
We were invited by Newton Aycliffe Council to have a stand at the Aycliffe show on Saturday 28th August so we will be there for that and then a stand at Eggleston show on 18th September.
So once again many thanks and our next event will be Saturday 31st October Halloween starting at 5 pm. Full details will appear on the web site and in local press.
